What Is The Best Dry Shampoo
Your hairdresser has been encouraging you for years, but how do you know what is the best dry shampoo?
We were introduced to dry shampoo in the early naughties and has been a staple in our bathrooms ever since. Dry shampoo can be used to remove excess oil, freshen the hair up, as a volumiser on wet hair which is one of my favourite tips for creating volume for fine hair.
With so many dry shampoos now on the market, we have put together a list of our top three dry shampoos in order of results.
Klorane is a staple in most bathrooms because it is lightweight, does not leave a residue, and can be reapplied over several days without making the hair feel dry. We love to apply this product to the root area when hair is wet for extra volume.
Oribe Gold Lust Dry Shampoo is fast become a favourite for its non-powder residue formula. This dry shampoo can be applied through the mids and ends to create more texture as well as being applied on the roots as a dry shampoo.
If you’re after a dry shampoo that’s eco you can’t go past fellow made safe cosmetics brand Eco Style Project Dry Shampoo. This gentle product can also be used as a volumiser.
For best results to remove excess oil, part hair and spray can on oily areas of the scalp, leave for two minutes then shake the excess powder off the hair and style as usual. To use as a volumiser after washing hair, gently towel dry to remove excess water. Apply the product onto areas where you’re wanting to see more volume, blast hair with a hairdryer for extra volume or leave to dry naturally for a more relaxed natural look.
Keep in mind if you are using dry shampoo you will want to cleanse the scalp and hair every wash, we recommend Balancing shampoo which will help to break down any product residue. We recommend following up with a hydrating shampoo and treatment conditioner to give the hair and scalp nourishment after using a dry shampoo.
