How To Care For Coloured Hair At Home
You have invested time at the salon, to keep your colour looking beautiful we have created four simple tips on how to care for coloured hair at home.
Avoid swimming or wetting the hair straight after a colour. Pigments may take a day or two to settle into the hair and washing the hair or swimming in chlorine may affect the longevity of your colour.
Avoid washing your hair with a clarifying shampoo for the first wash. Clarifying shampoos can shift artificial hair pigments which can strip a fresh colour. We recommend using a natural shampoo and conditioner to help keep your colour hydrated and help prevent colour fade, like our Hydrating Shampoo and Treatment Conditioner.
Use a treatment as a conditioner, the inspiration behind Treatment Conditioner came from our clients wanting to treat their hair at home, but didn’t have the time to leave a treatment in their hair for twenty minutes, then get back in the shower and rinse it out. Our Treatment Conditioner is designed to work as a lightweight instant treatment applied every wash to give hair the moisture and hydration it craves. With key ingredients of Kakadu Plum and Lilly Pilly, your hair will thank you.
Don’t overuse heat tools, overusing straight irons on the hair can be damaging to the cuticle. When the cuticle becomes damaged the fish-like scales start to lift which accelerates colour fade. We have found lightly misting the hair with water and smoothing the hair into a bun at night will give you a smooth natural look, reducing the amount of heat applied to the hair which will keep your colour from fading sooner.
